Get Creative - Guerrilla Marketing Strategies for Internet Marketing

You have to admit there is a great appeal to running your very own web based business from your home and with your computer. Most people fail at online marketing because they are too lazy to work, plain and simple, so remember you will need to put forth the effort. So if you are not willing to do the hard work, then we recommend you go back to watching TV or whatever. There are evergreen marketing and advertising methods that will serve you well, and then there are other methods that are different.

In case you may have thought that business cards are not needed for online marketers; you are partially right but they can still be useful. You never know when you really need to give one to somebody you meet, and that person could really turn out to be important for your business. There is no single way to use them but rather a collection of ways you can use them to build awareness. Depending on your niche, you can put them in magazines at bookstores, for instance. What you will do with this is just use it in conjunction with everything else you do.

You are knowledgeable about how you can use Twitter to your advantage for both business and pleasure. Most likely you have both a personal and business account already. Why not combine the two and begin using your business account like you do your personal one? Re-tweet the messages that you thought had some value to them. Respond to tweets others have made. Follow people outside of your niche whom you find interesting.

There is more to Twitter than internet marketers tweeting about their businesses. Once you start communicating with more people, you will see that Twitter can be used to your advantage for more things than just business.

A lot of guerrilla marketing involves doing things offline, and in this case it is sending mailers to offline businesses or people. Remember you do not have to get fancy at all about this, and you can write a presell page and mail that. Your only goal is to generate a lead, and that means you avoid doing any hard selling of any kind. They will be far more likely to visit your site if you enclose this inexpensive gift, with a "thinking of you and thought you could use this" kind of note. Do not ask for business, just tell them to have a great day and let their curiosity get the better of them.

Promoting your website, online or off-line, should always be done in a creative manner when building your Internet Marketing business. Although most people will market their website or product through Facebook, articles, or pay per click advertising, doing something nontraditional is sometimes a welcome breath of fresh air.

Change it up and do something that pops into your head. These guerilla marketing techniques really do work! Try a few and see how it goes. Just a few of them, and you will see how fun Internet marketing really can be.
