How To Make A Story Attractive

Telling a story is a great way to get your meaning across. Here's how you make a story dynamic.

Decide on the purpose for the story. What is the point you want to get across? Tell your story creatively to make your point clear.

Create the backdrop. Illustrate the scene through your words so that your audience can see it in their minds. When was this, and where was it? What is going on emotionally, physically, or spiritually?

The main characters should be introduced. Help your audience to picture the important characters through detailed descriptions. Describe your characters' personalities, their quirks, and their relationships. You can make use of different voices to give your characters more distinction.

You should then start the story. What is the aim of this journey? What are the tests that will be encountered?

Encounter challenges. At this point, bring in an exciting event to make things interesting. You can do this through a person, an opinion, or an obstacle. Exaggeration will add humour.

Triumph over all the obstacles. What should be done to triumph over the obstacle? Do you have it in you to overthrow the obstacle? Did someone come to assist you? Was it a hero? Or you? Precision is the key. Divide your solution into a number of steps. This is where the teaching happens.

Finish the journey. How did things go? Finish everything, like what happened to the other characters? To your hero?

After that, you can say the message you want your audience to get. A story needs one clear point to have more points confuses the issue. Make your point into a statement that's almost too simple, so that it'll be easy to remember. Find "the phrase that pays".

Ask the question. Make a connection between your story and theirs. "Has that ever happened to you?" Turn the point you want to get across into a inquisition. Push their buttons!

Practice, practice, practice. Find people who will listen when you tell your story. You should allow them to act as your critics and repeat your story with revisions according to their criticisms. You do this to improve yourself.

Remember the best story you will ever tell is your next story!
